ஒரு பேராசைப் பிடித்த நாய் இறைச்சிக் கடை ஒன்றிலிருந்து ஒரு முறை எலும்புத் துண்டு ஒன்றைத் திருடிச் சென்றது.
Once a greedy dog stole a bone from a butcher's shop.
வீட்டிற்குச் செல்லும் வழியில் அது ஒரு பாலத்தைக் கடக்கவேண்டும்.
On his way home, he had to cross a bridge.
பாலத்தைக் கடக்கும் போது அந்த நாய் தனது நிழலைத் தண்ணீரில் பார்த்தது.
While crossing, the dog saw his own shadow in the water.
அதனை மற்றொரு நாய் என்று நினைத்துக் குரைக்கத் தொடங்கியது.
The dog thought that it was another dog and barked at it.
குரைக்கும் போது வாயிலிருந்த எலும்புத் துண்டு தண்ணீரில் விழுந்து மூழ்கியது. அந்தப் பேராசைப் பிடித்த நாயோ சோகத்தோடு வீடு திரும்பியது.
When it barked, the bone fell into water and the greedy dog went away sad.
நெறி: பேராசை ஒரு சாபம்.
